DROWNED ALIVE

David placed a 100+ year old book on the table in front of me; it was Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, volume 1. Inferno, featuring first-generation pressings of Gustave Doré's engravings. I was chilled to the core and knew I wanted to remix Doré's phantasmic illustrations for the website ahead.

The Tarot

David's first deck of cards was a Tarot deck. Indeed, I learned that the Tarot was the root of all card games. Each area of the site is inspired by a Tarot card, depicted with remixed Doré engravings.

The overall effect was strange and mystical. We were happy to receive over a million unique visitors a day for the duration of his week-long event. But we felt excellent about garnishing a 10-minute average time-on-site.
